Human approvals (human-in-the-loop)

Human-in-the-loop means an agent pauses before certain actions and waits for a person to approve, change or reject them. It is the simplest way to let an agent do real work, such as issuing a refund or changing a record, while keeping a person responsible for the decisions that matter.

The hard part is choosing what to gate. Ask for approval on everything and people start clicking yes without reading, which is worse than no gate at all. These guides cover the whole flow: adding approval gates to an agent's tool calls, deciding which actions need a person and which can run on their own so reviewers stay alert, and reaching approvers where they work with Slack messages and webhooks.

  2. 02AI Agent Human in the Loop: Approve Tool Calls in PythonMake your AI agent ask a human before it refunds, emails or deletes. Approve or reject tool calls in Python, with real runs and honest limits.Intermediate · 20 minOct 11, 2026
  3. 03Approval Fatigue: Auto-Approve Safe AI Agent ActionsStop rubber-stamping AI agent actions. Auto-approve routine tool calls with rules, send only risky ones to a human, and log why. Real Python runs.Intermediate · 21 minOct 11, 2026
  4. 04AI Agent Notifications: Webhook and Slack Alerts in PythonGet alerted when your AI agent fails a tool call, hits a guardrail or budget, or needs approval. Webhooks, Slack and Python callbacks, with real payloads.Intermediate · 25 minOct 11, 2026
